چکیده

Over the past two decades, structural optimization studies have been performed extensively by researchers across the world. Most recent investigations have focused on increasing the efficiency and robustness of gradient based optimization techniques and extending them to multidisciplinary objective functions. The existing global optimization techniques suffer with requirement of enormous computational effort due to large number of variables used in grid discretization of problem domain. The paper proposes a novel methodology named as Constructive Geometry Topology Optimization Method (CG-TOM) for topology optimization problems. It utilizes a set of nodes and overlapping primitives to obtain the geometry. A novel graph based repair operator is used to ensure consistent design and real parameter genetic algorithm is used for optimization. Results for standard benchmark problems for compliance minimization have been found to give better results than existing methods in literature. The method is generic and can be extended to any two or three-dimensional topology optimization problem using different primitives.

Structural topology optimization using multi-objective genetic algorithm with constructive solid geometry representation

This paper proposes a constructive solid geometry based approach (named CG-TOM) for structural topology optimization. The use of evolutionary algorithms for topology optimisation is considered ineffective due to a considerably large number of topological design variables. To alleviate this problem, a novel representation scheme is proposed, which encodes the topology using position of few joint...

Optimization of Constructive Solid Geometry Via a Tree-Based Multi-objective Genetic Algorithm

This paper presents the multi-objective evolutionary optimization of three-dimensional geometry represented via constructive solid geometry (CSG), a binary tree of boolean operations of solid primitives. NSGA-II is extended for binary tree chromosomes with customized crossover and mutation operators tailored for the evolution of CSG trees and applied for two-objective shape optimization of indo...

Multi-layer Clustering Topology Design in Densely Deployed Wireless Sensor Network using Evolutionary Algorithms

Due to the resource constraint and dynamic parameters, reducing energy consumption became the most important issues of wireless sensor networks topology design. All proposed hierarchy methods cluster a WSN in different cluster layers in one step of evolutionary algorithm usage with complicated parameters which may lead to reducing efficiency and performance. In fact, in WSNs topology, increasin...
